Junior League of Palo Alto • Mid Peninsula, Inc., Menlo Park Fire District and Stanford Park Hotel Host Event For Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation
MENLO PARK, Calif. – Sept. 17, 2007 – The Junior League of Palo Alto•Mid Peninsula, Menlo Park Fire District and Stanford Park Hotel will again be piling up the pancakes when they host the 7th Annual Menlo Park Pancake Breakfast to benefit the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation. This family-friendly event will be held at the Menlo Park Firehouse at 300 Middlefield Road on Saturday, October 6 from 7:30 to 11 a.m. “We look forward to building upon the success of last year’s Pancake Breakfast, which served more than 1,200 attendees and raised more than $10,000 for the burn foundation,” says JLPA•MP President Laura Whitman. “It’s a wonderful event that is warmly supported by the community – and we hope we can count on that support again this year.”
In addition to pancakes cooked to perfection by Menlo Park firefighters, the event will feature a variety of children’s activities, including face painting, arts and crafts and tours of Menlo Park’s antique fire engines. A silent auction will also be held for a chance to bid on fun items for the family. All proceeds raised from this event will go to The Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation and their programs for adolescent burn victims.
This is the 7th year in a row that The Junior League of Palo Alto•Mid Peninsula (JLPA•MP), Menlo Park Fire District and Stanford Park Hotel have partnered to host the Menlo Park Pancake Breakfast.

About the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation The Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation works in partnership with firefighters, educators and burn care professionals to produce a variety of innovative prevention materials and programs that are distributed throughout California and the world. One unique program provided by the Foundation is Champ Camp. Champ Camp is a week-long residential summer camp that allows these children to meet others who have gone through a similar experience and to realize that he/she is not alone with their injury. The camp provides a supportive atmosphere in which a child can feel at ease. It spotlights a person’s “inner beauty” not the burn scars.
