Empowering girls to be STEAM leaders of tomorrow
SPARK an idea•INSPIRE the next generation•CONNECT with leaders
The Junior League of Palo Alto•Mid Peninsula is investing in our next generation of female STEAM leaders through strategic grant-making, coalition building and by partnering with local and national nonprofits on projects for direct service, capacity building and advocacy. We are excited to continue our multi-year partnership with The Tech Museum of Innovation and announce a new partnership with Project READ at the Redwood City Public Library.
In the news: The July 2017 issue of Gentry included this article on the League's partnership with The Tech Museum of Innovation for Girls Days @ The Tech.
"Worlds Top Girl Coders Headed to California," EdSource. Check out the great work our friends and past project partners, Technovation are doing. “If you’re wondering what we should invest in, it’s women. If you educate a woman, the whole community benefits.” Tara Chklovski, Iridescent
You can find coverage of our inaugural partnerships with The Tech Museum and Technovation, including our grant to establish Girls Days at The Tech, on our In the News page.
On why STEAM education for girls matters, check out "Helping Girls See Themselves in STEM Careers," co-authored by our Past President Jan Hickman and Gretchen Walker, Vice President of Education at The Tech. Museum of Innovation.
