Prospective members are invited to join us for a Ceramics Handbuilding Pattern & Texture (Sgraffito) Workshop with Carla Kasumi. Meet League members and learn more about League culture and membership.

If you love ceramics with bold colors and patterns, come create your own masterpiece in this workshop! Using pinch pots and slabs as a base, you’ll learn how to use the Sgraffito technique to add surface decoration. Sgraffito is an ideal technique for beginners.

From the Italian ‘to scratch’, Sgraffito refers to the technique of applying color to clay then carving through it to create a pattern by revealing the clay underneath. Sgraffito is an ideal technique for beginners.

All materials will be provided – just bring your creativity! By the end of the workshop, you will have one dish and one tile decorated with your unique designs.

Cost: $100 per person, a portion of the proceeds benefit the JLPA-MP Annual Campaign.
