President’s Message

In 1965, an amazing group of women joined the global Junior League movement and worked together to create a new Junior League. The Junior League of Palo Alto•Mid Peninsula was formed to advance women’s leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration, and training.

For more than 55 years, the Junior League of Palo Alto•Mid Peninsula (JLPA•MP) has been serving the needs of our community through the outstanding leadership and effective action of our trained volunteers. We have tackled some of the most difficult social issues such as affordable housing, societal violence, literacy and education, homelessness, drug addiction, AIDS prevention and at-risk children and youth.

Our 500 plus members dedicate thousands of volunteer hours each year to developing their leadership skills and serving our community. Today’s Junior League of Palo Alto•Mid Peninsula members continue to build a legacy of leadership and service. We are enhancing our story by creating a place for all women to have a seat at the table and giving each member an opportunity to bring her whole self to our work.

We appreciate your interest in who we are and our movement. Whether you’re considering membership, are part of an community group looking to partner with us, or are considering support of our mission with a financial gift, we invite you to join us as we support women volunteers and their leadership journey. Your support ensures we continue to improve our community for many years to come.

With gratitude,

Bena Vohra
President, 2023-2024 Board of Directors
