Festive Truffle Making Virtual Class

Description

Start the holiday season with a festive virtual truffle making class!

Learn how to make both chocolate ganache and pecan pie truffles—perfect for your next holiday gathering. Recipes are kid friendly, so have them join in on the fun too!

Tickets benefit the JLPA•MP Annual Fund.


All materials must be purchased prior to the event. Most are common kitchen items.

Kitchen equipment:

  • Microwave or stove (double boiler)
  • Small to medium mixing bowls
  • Measuring cups
  • Mixing spoons
  • Mini cupcake papers
  • Optional – 8” x 8” foil pans for chilling truffles
  • Optional – small scoop. (Spoons work just fine, too.)
  • Optional – kitchen gloves
  • Optional – Wax or parchment paper (a plate or cookie sheet works fine, too.)
  • Optional – Hand mixer

Chocolate Ganache Truffles

  • 8 ounces chocolate (grab two 4-ounce bars from the baking aisle; choose milk chocolate for sweeter truffles or semi-sweet/dark chocolate for extra rich truffles)
  • ⅔ cup heavy cream or heavy whipping cream
  • 1 tablespoon softened butter
  • ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • Toppings of your choice: cocoa powder, sprinkles, finely chopped nuts

Pecan Pie Truffles

  • 2 ½ cups pecans, toasted and finely chopped
  • 1 cup graham cracker crumbs (about 8 whole graham crackers if you’re making your own)
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar, packed
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup tablespoons real maple syrup
  • 1 ½ teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups chocolate (grab two 8-ounce bars from the baking aisle; choose milk chocolate for sweeter truffles or semi-sweet/dark chocolate for extra rich truffles)
